The role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to primary school pupils in accordance with the national curriculum. The primary teacher plans, prepares and delivers engaging lessons that meet the educational and developmental needs of children. The teacher assesses pupils' progress and provides constructive feedback to support their learning journey. The role requires maintaining a safe and positive classroom environment that promotes respect and inclusivity. The teacher liaises with parents, carers and colleagues to support pupils' welfare and academic progress. The position demands active participation in school events, staff meetings, and professional development activities to contribute to continuous school improvement.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons across the primary curriculum that engage and motivate pupils.
- Assess and monitor pupils' progress regularly and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Create and maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with the school's policies.
- Provide timely and meaningful feedback to pupils to enhance their learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and welfare.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives and professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment, attendance and behaviour.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion within the classroom and school community.
- Required Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised within England.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
- Degree in Education or a related subject is highly desirable.
- Previous experience of teaching within a primary school setting is preferred.
- Experience in planning and delivering lessons to children aged 5-11.
- Thorough understanding of the National Curriculum for England and assessment frameworks.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to differentiate teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
- Effective communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
- Competent in using information and communication technology to support teaching and learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- The role is based within a primary school environment in Greater London, Greenwich.
- Full-time contract with standard school hours, including some participation in after-school activities or meetings as required.
- Occasional requirement to attend events or training outside of usual school hours.
- The position requires standing for extended periods and engaging actively with pupils throughout the school day.
