Pro Rata Actual Salary: £15,755.87 (typically £1,312.98 pcm)
Please note that as a temporary secondment cover, this contract may be terminated earlier than the fixed term (for example, upon the early return of the substantive postholder), subject to the statutory or contractual notice periods outlined in the employment agreement. If the substantive postholder remains in their new position at the end of this fixed term agreement the intention will be to make this position permanent.
The Local Academy Council is seeking to appoint a positive, proactive and friendly front of house Administrator with a passion for working with children in a diverse and busy Primary Academy office. The school is at the heart of the local community therefore the successful candidate must be able to promote the positive and caring ethos of the school and be able to effectively engage and collaborate with all stakeholders.
John Wheeldon is a large school serving pupils from the age of 4 to 11 years. It is one of the twenty one academies that are part of the Staffordshire University Academies Trust (SUAT). We are looking for a person who;- Has a friendly and welcoming approach to liaising with pupils, staff and parents.
- Can take a compassionate and balanced approach to dealing with sensitive stakeholder issues arising from day to day school life.
- Is able to maintain a polite and professional attitude in dealing with parental engagement and busy working schedules.
- Is keen to learn, take on new challenges and engage with training opportunities as and when they arise.
- Takes a proactive and positive approach to dealing with day-to-day administrative duties, taking directionfrom the Office Manager, Senior Leadership Team and wider staff cohort.
- Preferably has experience in working in an office based/ administrative background.
- Is an effective communicator with an understanding of the importance of providing assurance to all stakeholders of the Academy.
- Works well as part of a team and is able to manage/ prioritize their working duties whilst understandingthe roles and responsibilities of others.
- Provide front of house support to pupil and parent community, dealing with day to day enquiries and
telephone calls/ relaying messages. Supporting pupils by ensuring a smooth transition to their learning day. - Support in carrying our admissions and attendance based administration.
- Act as a First Aid point of contact for pupil injuries and ailments.
- Utilizing administrative software to support the operational functions of the main Academy Office (ParentPay, Bromcom, MyConcern, Parent Dojo).
- Contribute towards the maintenance of Staff HR files.
- Supporting the Senior Leadership Team with basic administrative duties, not exhaustive to the above duties as instructed by the Office Manager.
- Adult First Aid or Paediatric First Aid certified.
- Knowledge of safeguarding/ Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines with an awareness of the typeof issues and sensitive matters that may arise from day to day school life.
- Experience of working with data management information systems.
- Administrative background particularly in working in fast paced office environments.
- Experience of working in a customer service/ key stakeholder based working environment.
- Training will be provided to the successful candidate with regards to both Safeguarding and First Aid duties as required
