Job Description
Our client, a well-established and growing freight forwarding and logistics organisation, is seeking an experienced Export Pricing & Operations Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded logistics professional with strong export operations knowledge across Air, Sea, and Road freight.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing complex export quotations, supporting operational delivery, and building strong relationships with clients and international partners. This position offers a blend of commercial and operational responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple aspects of the supply chain.
Pricing & Quotation Management- Act as the primary point of contact for complex export pricing enquiries across Air, Sea, and Road freight services.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop competitive pricing strategies for new business opportunities and global tenders.
- Negotiate rates with carriers, agents, and third-party suppliers to maximise profitability while maintaining high service standards.
- Maintain and manage tariff databases to ensure accurate and timely customer quotations.
- Support the export team with the day-to-day coordination and execution of international shipments.
- Oversee the end-to-end booking process, ensuring all shipment information is accurately entered into internal systems.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational issues to ensure service excellence.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, export regulations, and internal procedures.
- Lead the onboarding of key customer accounts, ensuring operational procedures and service requirements are fully implemented.
- Liaise with international agents, carriers, and logistics partners to coordinate door-to-door and cross-border freight movements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert guidance on export regulations, routing options, and logistics solutions.
- Deliver regular updates and exceptional service to key stakeholders.
- Proven experience within a freight forwarding or export logistics environment.
- Strong operational knowledge of Air, Sea, and Road export processes.
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify opportunities to improve margins and support business growth.
- Sound understanding of Incoterms 2020, customs procedures, and export documentation, including Bills of Lading and customs declarations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with freight management systems such as CargoWise or similar.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
