We are seeking creative practitioners with experience in teaching textile-based arts and crafts to run upcycling, embroidery, sewing or other textile based crafts workshops.

You don't need to have experience in all these areas as we will consider multiple applicants. However, teaching or facilitation experience is essential, especially working with vulnerable adults and communities. Although we are primarily looking for practitioners to teach embroidery, sewing and upcycling skills, we are also open to proposals for other accessible textile or craft-based workshops.

Workshops will take place at All Sewn Up, Lady Margaret Hall in Lambeth, and will be delivered to groups of up to 10 participants.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have an artistic practice focused on sustainability, upcycling, accessibility and wellbeing, and who are willing to explore these themes as part of the workshop(s).

Plan accessible workshops focused on embroidery, upcycling or potentially other textile-based craft

  • Independently deliver workshops and training sessions for a variety of groups, including beginners, community groups, and vulnerable participants (maximum number of students is 10)

  • Adapt teaching and facilitation approaches to the needs, abilities and experience of individual participants
  • Create engaging workshops that encourage creativity, participation and confidence

This is a sessional/freelance opportunity. Successful applicants will be offered workshops on a needs basis, with dates and timings agreed in advance.
