Freelance Process Integration Engineer (Semiconductor) - Wafer Fab Nijmegen 12 months
Do you enjoy working on the technological backbone of automotive chips? For an international high-tech semiconductor company in Nijmegen, we are looking for an experienced Process Integration Engineer to support the transfer of a production process into Europe's largest 8-inch cleanroom. You will play a key role in introducing new technology, with direct impact on quality, yield, and reliability.
Location
Nijmegen - hybrid setup, minimum 3 days per week on-site, Mondays are mandatory.
Period
Start: August 2025
Duration: 12 months (extension possible)
What you'll be doing
- Lead the transfer of a chip production process from a sister fab in the US to Nijmegen
- Execute experiments (DoE), analyze data, and optimize critical process parameters
- Resolve complex process-related issues in collaboration with fab and yield teams
- Continuously improve quality, reliability, cost, defectivity, and productivity
- Conduct FMEAs and lead 8D teams to drive structural improvements
- Ensure stable production performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Who we're looking for
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Sciences, or Chemistry
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a senior or principal engineer in a wafer fab environment
- Experience with process transfers, optimization, and production integration
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- A communicative team player
- Proven track record in leading projects or improvement initiatives
- Able to stay calm in complex situations and manage multiple issues in parallel
- Proficient with FMEA, 8D methodology, SPC, and data analysis
- Dutch language skills are a plus
