Role Information

As a military Training Instructor at LCG, you will provide outstanding teaching and learning throughout the L2 qualification for our learners. Your lessons will be detailed, well planned and engaging, and the learners under your leadership will be well motivated.

Duties
  • Keep up to date with subject knowledge and ensure lessons are challenging.
  • Maintain industrial knowledge by attending training camps, events, familiarisation days and assessment centres annually.
  • Use assessment to inform learners on how to improve their knowledge.
  • Systematically check learning during lessons and offer directed, timely support.
  • Prepare demanding lessons to help learners realise their potential.
  • Deliver curriculum covering both physical and emotional well being.
  • Ensure resources reflect and value the diversity of learners' experiences.
  • Identify learners who are falling behind, support and enable them to catch up.
  • Set challenging individual targets for all learners.
  • Support the development of Maths and English with all learners.
  • Track all work experience via the FCA in England.
  • Assist with learner induction alongside the Centre Manager.
  • Keep the MIS updated with all learner details and performance tracking.
  • Carry out progress reviews to support learner development.
  • Deliver physical training using the bib system during sessions, adjusting intensity appropriately.
  • Deliver Military Training Days following the military skills portfolios scheme of work.
  • Listen to the views of learners and parents to improve teaching and learning.
  • Attend regular training on teaching and learning.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to learners, customers and colleagues.
  • Conduct your role in line with company values and expected behaviours.
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognise diversity throughout the company.
  • Comply with Safeguarding, Prevent and Health and Safety policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working within one of the uniformed services (minimum 3 years).
  • Military or civilian physical training qualification.
  • GCSE Maths and English (required).
  • Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
  • Teaching or instructing qualification or experience.
  • Experience working with young people.
