Job Details: Freelance Military Training Instructor 
Location: Sheffield, Lincoln (S12 2AN)

- Provide outstanding teaching and learning throughout the L2 qualification within the centre.
- Develop and deliver detailed, well planned, engaging lessons that motivate learners.
- Keep subject knowledge up to date and attend reserve training camps, Look at Life events, familiarisation and assessment centres annually.
- Use assessment data to inform learners on how to improve knowledge and check learning systematically during lessons.
- Prepare demanding lessons that help learners realise their potential and deliver curriculum on both physical and emotional well being.
- Ensure resources reflect the diversity of learners' experience and provide a comprehensive understanding of people and communities.
- Identify learners falling behind, support and enable them to catch up and set challenging individual targets.
- Support development of Maths/English across all learners and track all work experience via the FCA in England.
- Assist with learner induction and maintain the MIS with learner details, performance, attendance, and progression.
- Undertake progress reviews to support learners' educational development.
- Deliver physical training using the bib system and extend challenge to appropriate intensity.
- Deliver military training days that follow the military skills portfolios scheme of work cyclically.
- Listen to learners' and parents' views to continually improve teaching and learning.
- Attend regular training on teaching and learning.
- Provide support, advice and guidance to learners, customers and colleagues.
- Conduct role in line with company values, expected behaviours and promote equal opportunities and diversity.
- Comply with safeguarding, prevent and health and safety policies and remain vigilant to potential concerns and risks.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good administration and paperwork skills.
- Appropriate classroom management skills.
- Experience working within a uniformed service (army, navy, air force) - minimum of 3 years.
- Military or civilian physical training qualification.
- GCSE Maths & English qualification.
- Knowledge of vocational qualifications or the education sector.
- Teaching qualification or experience of teaching or instructing.
- Experience working with young people.
- Flexibility - choose how often you teach to accommodate other commitments.
- Support - onboarding process and regular contact with the Tutor Delivery Manager.
- Live scheduling via SHIFTS system; receive job notifications and manage upcoming courses.
- Standardisation meetings bi annually to observe and share best practice.

- Self employed associate tutors - responsible for tax and NI contributions; UTR number required.
