Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Freelance IT Infrastructure Project Manager for one of our clients based in Waregem in the Industrial Manufacturing sector.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee projects from planning to closure, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies and governance.
  • Lead deployment and migration projects across the entire IT infrastructure lifecycle.
  • Conduct studies or business cases, including inventory assessments and needs analysis for internal and external customers.
  • Develop deployment/migration strategies in collaboration with the IT department.
  • Define and document project specifications and requirements when necessary.
  • Work with IT infrastructure and security teams to design architecture ensuring security, availability, and service levels.
  • Manage migration processes to minimize downtime, coordinating migration plans with stakeholders.
  • Define, test, and adapt migration processes and plans based on project needs.
  • Coordinate migration execution, from planning and preparation to testing, post-migration support, documentation, and handover to operational teams.
  • Supervise maintenance contracts for new equipment and decommissioning of outdated systems.
  • Monitor and report on project procurement, logistics, technical, organizational, and financial aspects.


Your Profile

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
  • Degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, or a bachelor's degree in computer science with equivalent experience.
  • Certifications:
  • Project Management (PMI, Prince2, or similar) certification is appreciated.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise in managing complex IT infrastructure projects, balancing technical, organizational, and financial aspects.
  • Strong analytical skills for adapting to large cross-functional organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders, particularly in public transport.
  • Proficient in risk management and proactive planning to ensure system availability.
  • Leadership and organizational skills to drive project success and collaboration.


Contract Type: Freelance

Location: Ghent

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 12 Months

Onsite Policy: 2-3 Days Per Week

Languages: English (Dutch is a bonus)
