The Company

We are currently working in partnership with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial professional services business with a strong national presence and ambitious plans for further expansion. Having already achieved significant organic growth, the business is now entering an important stage in its development, with a more active M&A and buy-and-build strategy forming a key part of its future plans. Operating in a dynamic and commercially focused environment, they are now seeking an experienced Fractional CFO to provide strategic financial leadership and support the business through this next phase of development.

The Role

Working closely with the CEO, shareholders and senior leadership team, you will play a central role in preparing the business for potential Private Equity investment and supporting the development and execution of its M&A and buy-and-build strategy. This will include financial modelling, investor readiness, due diligence preparation, acquisition appraisal, transaction support and post-deal integration. Alongside this strategic remit, the role will remain hands-on, providing commercial and financial insight across management information, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, controls and financial planning.

The Person

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with significant CFO or senior finance leadership experience gained within a growing, entrepreneurial professional services or people-led organisation. You will ideally have direct experience of preparing a business for Private Equity investment, working through a transaction or operating within a PE-backed environment, together with strong M&A exposure across acquisition appraisal, financial modelling, due diligence and integration.

Commercially astute and highly analytical, you will be comfortable operating at Board and shareholder level while remaining close to the detail. Credible with investors, advisers and lenders, you will combine strategic transaction capability with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and the ability to add value quickly in a fractional capacity.

How to Apply

This is an exciting opportunity to work with an ambitious organisation at a key stage in its development, with significant scope to influence future investment, acquisitions and value creation.
