Job Description

Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by a private equity backed business to source a FP&A Manager to join their team on a full time, staff basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding business out with oil and gas.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes across all business units
  • Deliver business insights around key KPIs, driving clarity on performance against targets
  • Support and challenge promotions and discounts, ensuring financial impact is understood and target setting is commercially sound
  • Analyse sales behaviours, trends, and market patterns to inform decision-making
  • Produce robust commercial appraisals for all project justifications - including new locations, refurbishments, acquisitions, and post-investment reviews
  • Track and benchmark competitor performance to identify opportunities
  • Support core finance team with specific month end tasks or cover requirements
  • Provide financial support for ESG-related initiatives, linking them to long-term value

Background and Experience

  • CA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • 5 years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering roles
  • Proven ability to deliver actionable insights and lead end-to-end planning cycles
  • Experience within a multi-site retail or manufacturing environment is highly beneficial
  • Expert in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and ROI evaluation
  • Strong commercial and operational understanding, with the ability to translate financial insight into business action
  • Deep knowledge of analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion)
  • Awareness of ESG and sustainability frameworks and their business impact
  • Flexibility and adaptability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Creativity to think laterally in problem solving
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration
  • Proactive, and commercially astute with the ability to challenge and influence
