CONTRACT TYPE: 12 month FTC
DEPARTMENT: Finance Planning and Analysis
LOCATION: Glasgow or Belfast
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: Up to £50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Working within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function within BBC Finance, we are recruiting for a FP&A Analyst to provide financial planning through the preparation of robust end-to-end short-to-mid-term Divisional budgets and forecasts.

The FP&A Analysts will work in partnership with the Finance Partnering teams, playing a crucial role in the delivery of local business support coupled with the provision of meaningful and enhanced financial analysis to drive business decision making and support problem solving.

The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in supporting Divisional and pan-BBC continuous improvement initiatives across Finance activities.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Assist in the production, and review, of short term plans for continuous cost centres and programme projects, extrapolating trends and supporting the input of data into Finance systems.
  • Strategic planning & Cost Management: Develop accurate and achievable forecasts which balance balancing creative aspirations and financial constraints. Provide effective financial control and management of budgets (including staff and income) on productions
  • Financial Advisory & Decision Support: Provide strategic business advice, problem-solving, and risk identification for budget holders and Finance teams.
  • Reporting & financial control: Lead on insightful analysis, commentary and preparation of management/cost reports with timely advice on budget control to key stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a key finance contact for the designated business unit whilst supporting and contributing to the delivery of the overall Divisional Finance service.
  • Process Improvement: Identify efficiencies, drive standardisation and automation across processes and procedures.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality financial planning and analysis services.
  • Strong inquisitive skills to assess financial drivers, perform variance analysis, and present findings effectively.
  • Ability to work across Finance and non-Finance teams to support informed decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial software, and driving standardisation and automation.
