Job Description
Payments Supervisor

Our Tilling team are now looking for a Payments Supervisor to support the delivery of accurate, efficient, and well organised tilling and payment operations on a fixed term contract until 30th January 2027. This role sits within Tilling in the Foodhalls, supervising the till points at the final stage of the customer journey. As a Payments Supervisor, you will help ensure every customer leaves with a seamless, efficient, and exceptional service experience.


About the Role

As a Payments Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of the Foodhalls tilling team and payment processes, helping to ensure transactions, queries, and workloads are managed effectively across the team. You will play an important part in maintaining accuracy, resolving issues quickly, and supporting colleagues with clear guidance and practical problem solving, while ensuring service delivery remains a key focus at the point of payment.


Our Payments Supervisors also:



  • Oversee daily payment activity, ensuring work is completed accurately and within a timely manner.

  • Support the team to deliver an excellent customer experience at the tills, ensuring service standards are consistently maintained.

  • Support the team with payment queries, escalations, and operational issues.

  • Use relevant systems, reports, and payment tools to monitor activity and resolve discrepancies.

  • Help prioritise workloads during busy periods, using fast thinking to keep processes moving.

  • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to support compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence.


About You

You will be highly organised, dependable, and confident working in a fast paced environment where accuracy matters.


You will bring strong problem solving skills and be comfortable making quick, considered decisions when priorities change.


You will be a clear communicator who can support colleagues, manage queries, and keep processes running smoothly.


You will also be someone who takes ownership, works well with others, and remains calm when managing deadlines or operational challenges.



  • Experience working with payment, finance, customer, retail, or operational processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and confidence using systems, reports, or data.

  • The ability to prioritise effectively and support others in a team environment.
