The RoleAs a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Hospitality & Catering or Food Preparation and Nutrition at Key Stage 5, depending on the school.
- Deliver exciting practical lessons that develop students' confidence, creativity, and technical skills.
- Teach topics including nutrition, healthy eating, food hygiene, food science, menu planning, and food preparation techniques.
- Ensure all practical lessons are delivered safely, maintaining high standards of health and safety within the food technology classroom.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing targeted intervention where required.
- Prepare students for GCSE and vocational qualifications, supporting them to achieve excellent outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities such as cooking clubs, competitions, and themed food events.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Food Technology, Food Preparation & Nutrition, or Hospitality & Catering within a UK secondary school.
- Strong practical and theoretical subject knowledge.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- A passion for inspiring students through practical learning.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
