About the role

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea rooms and restaurants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member to help create a memorable experience for visitors.

Contract details

Contract type: Zero hour contract - we cannot guarantee a set number of hours each week, but we aim to provide a consistent work pattern and will give as much notice as possible.

Contract duration: Fixed term until 31 Jan 2027.

Hours & working pattern: Hours and days vary depending on business needs; to be discussed at interview.

Interview dates: Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th July 2026.

Salary: £12.75 per hour.

Responsibilities

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, welcoming and looking after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people and a 'can do' attitude, you'll help guests enjoy their visit. Your tasks include providing outstanding service, making recommendations, ensuring food and drink standards remain high, keeping all displays and signs accurate and attractive, and assisting the kitchen team with food preparation when needed. You will receive induction, training in allergens and food safety, and any mentoring required, with the option for further professional development.
