The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you'll make a real difference to the work of the National Trust and help guests have a memorable day out.
This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you'll get to work before applying.
Contract type/working pattern: This is a zero hour contract, meaning we can't guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We'll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
Contract duration: Fixed term contract until 31 Dec 2026
Salary: £12.75 per hour

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your 'can do' attitude and your desire to provide outstanding service, you'll ensure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.
You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You'll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you'll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.
We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
