Job Description

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us as a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you'll make a real difference to the work of the National Trust and help give people a memorable day out. This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you'd get here for work before applying.

Salary: £14.45 per hour (incl. Outer London weighting Allowance £1.70 per hour)

Contract type: Zero hour contract - we cannot guarantee a set number of hours each week, but can provide a consistent pattern; flexibility required as schedules may change based on business needs. This role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evenings or split shifts.

Contract duration: Fixed term until 31st January 2027

What it's like to work here

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With a love of working with people, a can do attitude and a desire to provide outstanding service, you'll ensure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

You'll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You will keep food and drink standards high and display and signage accurate and attractive. At times you may help the kitchen team in food preparation.

We provide induction, training in allergens and food safety, and mentoring to help you succeed. Further professional training and development is available if you wish.
