Job Description

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea rooms and restaurants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we would love you to join us as a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you would be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, while helping people have a memorable day out.

This location is in a rural area - please consider your travel arrangements before applying.

Contract type: Zero hour contract - we cannot guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is necessary as schedules may change based on business needs. The role includes weekends and bank holidays but does not require evenings or split shifts.

Contract duration: Fixed term until 30 Nov 2026.

Salary: £12.75 per hour.

What it's like to work here

The team works front of house, welcoming and attending to guests. You will provide excellent service, recommend to guests, maintain high standards of food and drink preparation and presentation, and support the kitchen when needed. There is an emphasis on teamwork, adaptability and a 'can do' attitude. We provide an induction, training in allergens and food safety, and support for further professional development.

Responsibilities

You will greet guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, keep the area clean and ensure displays and signs are accurate and appealing. Where necessary you will assist the kitchen team with food preparation.
