Job Description

Our client, a leading global shipping and logistics organisation, is seeking a skilled Fleet Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop in Abingdon.

This Fleet Vehicle Technician position is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repairs. The Fleet Vehicle Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet, including light vans, tractor units, trailers, and an increasing number of electric and hybrid vehicles, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance.

  • Starting salary up to £38,355 per annum, with overtime paid at time and a half

Duties as a Fleet Vehicle Technician:
  • Servicing vehicles through routine checks and maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components as a Fleet Vehicle Technician
  • Conducting vehicle inspections to uphold safety standards
  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting using diagnostic tools
  • Working on electric and hybrid vehicle systems, including medical equipment, with full training provided
  • Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations in the workshop
  • Supporting team operations with strong communication and organisational skills
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in light or heavy vehicle maintenance
  • Relevant workshop experience covering all aspects of vehicle repair and servicing
  • A UK driving licence with minimal points; a C1 7.5 tonne licence is advantageous but not essential
  • Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Abingdon
  • Good understanding of workshop health and safety procedures
  • Organised and methodical, capable of working under deadlines
  • Excellent communicator and team player
  • Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles would be beneficial but is not essential; full training will be provided
