The roleAs a First Line Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll play a pivotal role in leading a multidisciplinary team of technicians and operatives working at the forefront of the UK's defence and engineering capability. Day-to-day you'll be required to:
- Lead, coach and develop team members to achieve safe, high-quality and on-time performance.
- Set clear, measurable objectives and provide feedback, recognition and guidance.
- Allocate work, ensuring appropriate method statements, risk assessments and documentation are in place.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
- Monitor skills, identify training needs and optimise team utilisation to meet delivery schedules.
This role is full time and is based on site at Rosyth. The shift pattern for this role includes unsociable hours and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
Essential experience of the First Line Manager- Strong leadership experience with a track record of developing and supporting teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe working practices (IOSH training advantageous).
- Proven ability to deliver work packages to time, cost and quality standards.
- Previous production experience with the ability to problem-solve and work to deadlines.
- Background in a relevant trade (such as welding or fabrication) is preferred but not essential.
- Ideally you will hold one of the following: a Degree, Higher National Diploma, Higher National Certificate or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Engineering, or a similar qualification; or equivalent professional experience.
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
