Job Description

On behalf of our client in the public health sector, we are seeking aFire Prevention Officerto join a busy Capital & Estates team. This role is essential in ensuring fire safety compliance across healthcare facilities and safeguarding staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections of buildings, fire safety systems, and escape routes
  • Develop and maintain fire safety procedures and evacuation plans
  • Deliver fire safety training and coordinate fire drills
  • Identify fire risks and ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, incidents, and drills
  • Provide expert advice on fire safety standards and regulations
  • Support risk assessments, audits, and safety improvement initiatives
  • Liaise with contractors, fire services, and internal stakeholders
RequirementsEssential
  • Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in:
    • Engineering
    • Fire Engineering
    • Architecture
    • Health & Safety
    • Building Services
  • Minimum2 years' experiencein a similar fire safety role
OR
  • Level 6 qualification with4 years' relevant experience(public sector applicants)
Desirable Experience
  • Fire risk assessments
  • Delivering fire safety training
  • Preparing fire safety certificate applications
  • Experience in healthcare, construction, or facilities management
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and building regulations
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills

Pay: €54,443.00-€83,757.00 per year
