A leading Irish main contractor is seeking an experienced Finishing Foreman to join the site management team on a major construction project in Galway City. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile development with a well-established contractor delivering large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all finishing and fit-out activities, ensuring works are completed to the highest quality standards, safely, on programme, and in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all finishing and snagging activities on site.
- Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour during the final stages of construction.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all finishing works.
- Monitor progress against programme and report regularly to Site Management.
- Manage and close out snag lists in conjunction with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure defects are rectified promptly.
- Promote and maintain high health and safety standards on site.
- Assist with project handover and completion documentation.
- Liaise effectively with Site Managers, Project Managers, Design Teams, and Clients.
- Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman with a main contractor.
- Strong track record delivering high-quality finishes on large-scale construction projects.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work to demanding project deadlines.
- Relevant construction qualifications desirable.
- Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and other relevant site certifications.
- Competitive salary of €70,000 - €80,000 depending on experience.
