Financial Reporting Manager

London Hybrid Working Excellent Salary + Bonus + Benefits

A leading international professional services organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join its UK finance leadership team.

This is far more than a traditional financial reporting role. We're looking for a technically strong accountant who is equally passionate about transforming finance operations, challenging existing ways of working and driving continuous improvement across a complex, multi-entity business.

The Role

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of UK financial reporting, statutory accounts and management information, while acting as a catalyst for change. You'll be expected to identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, leverage automation and emerging AI technologies, and embed best practice across the finance function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle.
  • Producing high-quality management accounts and Board reporting.
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Managing the year-end external audit process and acting as the primary finance contact for auditors.
  • Overseeing the month-end close process across multiple legal entities.
  • Driving continuous improvement across financial reporting, controls and governance.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency through technology and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Challenging existing processes and implementing scalable, best-in-class reporting practices.
  • Supporting finance transformation initiatives, systems optimisation and process standardisation.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing a small team of qualified accountants.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with a genuine passion for improving how finance operates.

You'll ideally bring:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification with at least five years' post-qualified experience.
  • Extensive experience in financial reporting and financial control within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • A proven track record of leading external audits and statutory reporting.
  • Experience operating across multiple legal entities within a complex business structure.
  • Advanced SAP (FICO/General Ledger) and Excel skills, with exposure to consolidation tools such as BPC being advantageous.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and implement more effective ways of working.
  • Experience identifying and delivering process improvements through automation, digital tools and, ideally, AI-enabled solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and bring others on the journey.
  • Previous experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.

What's on Offer

This is an opportunity to join a highly respected organisation where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the finance function.

Alongside responsibility for delivering best-in-class financial reporting, you'll have the autonomy to influence change, modernise processes and help build a more efficient, technology-enabled finance operation.

You'll benefit from:

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Hybrid working
  • Exposure to senior leadership
  • Genuine opportunity to influence finance transformation and continuous improvement

If you're a technically accomplished Financial Reporting Manager who enjoys challenging convention, embracing technology and driving meaningful change, we'd love to hear from you.
