Financial Reporting Accountant

The Financial Reporting team within Aer Lingus has an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join as a Financial Reporting accountant. This is a key role with a candidate joining an inclusive team, working collaboratively across the finance function, in a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will be centrally involved in internal and external reporting in addition to championing several system enhancements. This role is a Hybrid working model with 4 days in the office.
Your responsibilities as a Financial Reporting Accountant will include:
- Support the integration and embedding of the wider Aer Lingus finance function to SAP.
- Work collaboratively across functional teams in relation to efficient balance sheet reporting.
- Assist with the efficient management of the Half Year and Year end external audits.
- Preparation of the statutory financial statements prepared under International Financial Reporting Standards for Aer Lingus group entities.
- Efficiently manage the Half Year and Year end audits, ensuring completion in line with tight timelines.
- Responsibility for completion of internal controls for financial reporting ("ICFR") framework.
- Assisting with a broad range of interesting projects supporting the finance function.
- A keen interest in technical accounting standards and its application to commercial circumstances.
- Management of monthly consolidated accounts.
- Qualified accountant, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent experience.
- Accounting experience in a finance function/related group reporting experience.
- Good knowledge of regulations and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosure, including Companies Act and IFRS.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software applications combined with general proficiency in IT systems.
- An understanding of SAP, ideally SAP 4 Hana.
- Experience with Power BI tools (e.g. Alteryx).
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Eligible to live and work in the EU.
- Current unrestricted worldwide passport.
- Provide three verifiable references.
- Able to pass a five year security background check.
- Able to pass a 5-year security background check (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).
