Role Overview:
We are looking to connect with experienced and available FinOps professionals interested in supporting a fast-paced broker-dealer environment.
TradeZero FinOps manages and oversees the financial infrastructure that supports daily customer trading, settlement, cash management, and regulatory reporting. Acting as the bridge between front-office trading and back-office finance, our FinOps ensures all financial processes are accurate, timely, compliant, and efficient.
This position requires an experienced generalist with knowledge of brokering, trading (equity and options), and trading systems, clearing, corporate actions, settlement, reconciliation processes, payments, etc. - all while ensuring regulatory compliance. This is a challenging and demanding job, where a hands-on approach is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trade Lifecycle Management. Reconcile trades, positions, and P&L across systems from execution through to settlement (US Equities and Options).
- Cash & Treasury Operations. Monitor client and firm cash balances, manage funding flows and FX, margin calls, and client withdrawals/deposits.
- Reconciliations. Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of books and records, bank accounts, clearing broker statements, and internal ledgers. Review reports, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Regulatory Reporting. Support the preparation and verification of reports such as Transaction Reporting, FINREP, IFREP, and other obligations under MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, and local prudential regimes.
- Fee & Commission Processing. Oversee the calculation, reconciliation, and booking of brokerage fees, interest income, and rebates.
- Client Statement Testing. Perform monthly tests on random client account statements to verify: cash balances and trade positions against back-office reports. Document and resolve discrepancies, ensuring compliance with MiFID II standards.
- Audit & Compliance Support. Provide data and documentation for internal and external audits. Ensure that procedures and process documentation are current and audit-ready.
- Systems & Data Quality. Maintain financial data integrity across platforms (OMS, CRM, accounting software) and contribute to automation and system improvements.
- Regulatory Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring transparent and effective communication.
Requirements:
- Experience: 6+ years of FinOps or Trading Operations at an investment services firm (e.g. Broker Dealer or Asset Manager).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Skills: Strong command of and affinity with trade/order management systems, clearing procedures, and financial reconciliation tools. Solid Excel skills & Data Handling.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Ability to liaise effectively with other departments, including Compliance, Engineering, and external service providers (e.g., clearing brokers).
- Mindset: Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable. A problem solver and process builder. Strong commitment to improving, documenting, and scaling operational processes from scratch.
