The Financial Modelling team within our Deals Advisory & Consulting business supports clients with financial modeling across various advisory services, focusing on:
- Transactions and fundraising - sell-side or buy-side modeling to illustrate a business's story, assess risks, opportunities, and returns, and support fundraising efforts.
- Strategic planning and decision support - modeling to aid ongoing business planning and evaluate the impact of strategic and routine decisions.
- Restructuring and insolvency - turnaround planning, short-term cash flow forecasting, and insolvency outcome analysis.
- Funds and valuations - asset and fund models supporting transactions, valuations, and reporting, especially in the infrastructure sector.
Financial models underpin most business decisions and transactions. We build, review, and modify models across sectors, helping clients understand the implications of their decisions before they act. Our goal is to deliver models that are understandable, flexible, and robust. Most work is performed in Microsoft Excel, with some use of other programming languages. We share knowledge and best practices within our modelling community.

A look into the roleAs an Assistant Manager in our team, you will:
- Develop financial models and tools for forecasting and planning.
- Review models built by clients and advisers, providing initial insights.
- Update and run models to support various deliverables like valuations or insolvency analyses.
- Participate in model design discussions and draft specifications.
- Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis for deals and restructuring.
- Interpret model results and communicate implications to clients and colleagues.
- Assist other advisory teams with reports (e.g., Due Diligence, Corporate Finance).
- Share technical knowledge and mentor colleagues.
- Build client relationships through meetings and trust-based interactions.
- Proactively expand your internal and external network.
- Manage your career development with support from your manager and team.
- Deliver work within budgets and deadlines, managing conflicting priorities when necessary.
The minimum criteria to join as an Assistant Manager include:
- ACA or CA qualification (or equivalent) with a strong exam record.
- Excellent Excel skills and eagerness to learn more.
Preferred additional skills include:
- Degree in a numerate subject.
- Interest in business and corporate finance.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex topics clearly.
- Sound accounting knowledge and understanding of cash and working capital cycles.
- Logical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with VBA or PowerBI is a plus.
- Experience with complex financial models or transactional work is advantageous.
