Financial Controller
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 Permanent Hybrid Working

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a growing, multi-site business to recruit a Financial Controller into its central finance team.

Reporting to the CEO and Finance Director, this is a key role overseeing the day-to-day financial operations while supporting the wider business with commercial insight, financial control and strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will lead a small finance team, ensuring core financial processes are delivered accurately and efficiently, while identifying opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow and business performance.

The Role

• Lead and develop a small finance team, overseeing day-to-day activities and supporting individual development.

• Take ownership of the month-end process and production of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital, creditor payments and financial reconciliations.

• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning alongside the senior leadership team.

• Maintain robust financial controls, governance and approval processes across the business.

• Lead the year-end statutory accounts and external audit process.

• Monitor financial performance, investigate variances and provide meaningful commercial commentary and recommendations.

• Support investment appraisals, new-site business cases and post-investment reviews.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, reduce costs and increase profitability.

• Lead and deliver finance-related projects, including systems and process improvements.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

• An experienced Finance Manager or Financial Controller with a strong technical and commercial background.

• Experience managing a finance team and overseeing the full range of transactional finance activities.

• Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience.

• Commercially minded, with the ability to analyse financial performance and influence business decisions.

• Confident working with senior stakeholders and communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues.

• Experience improving financial processes, implementing controls and driving change.

• Advanced Excel and strong financial systems experience.

• A hands-on approach, comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with wider commercial projects.
