Cooley - Financial Analyst Position

Cooley is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the London Accounting & Finance department on a 14-month fixed-term contract.

Position Summary

The primary focus of this role is to provide financial analysis and reporting support to the Finance Manager - Europe and Director of Finance - Europe. Additional responsibilities include US tax support, LLP compliance and regulation, and company secretarial duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis: Produce regular month-end and ad hoc reports, assist with month-end close procedures, prepare year-end adjustments, and support senior management with various reports and analysis, including industry and government surveys.
• US Tax Filings and Support: Administer partner US tax returns and maintain accurate records.
• Compliance: Review data integrity, handle partner joiners and leavers, maintain LLP accounts, and assist with insurance and tax documentation.
• General Support: Assist UK directors and timekeepers, support marketing and business intelligence, and perform other duties as required.

Skills & Experience

• Accountant or part-qualified accountant / equivalent desirable.
• Experience in a US law firm preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in SQL report writing advantageous.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping beneficial.
• Availability for overtime as needed.
