What you'll need to succeed
Full membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CCAB or CIMA) Minimum 1 year's post-qualification finance experience At least 2 years' experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated leadership, governance, and people management skills (min. 2 years) Strong analytical and Excel skills (advanced level) Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate complex financial data Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle This requirement may be waived for applicants with a disability who can demonstrate alternative transport arrangements.

Your new role
As a Financial Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of statutory accounts, financial governance, and capital accounting.
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you'll be responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation of annual accounts (including charitable and patient funds)
- Ensuring timely submission of Whole of Government Accounts and other statutory returns
- Managing capital accounting and maintaining the asset register
- Reconciling control accounts and payroll interfaces
- Supporting internal and external audit processes
- Liaising with shared services and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Contributing to financial governance, policy compliance, and continuous improvement
