Location: Dublin, Leeds, London. Hybrid - 2 days per week (Dublin only).
Contract Type: 2 year FTC.
OverviewWe are looking for a Financial Accountant in our Record to Report (RTR) space to deliver financial and management information to internal and external stakeholders. The role focuses on accounting and reporting for operating expenses within the GFC team, across Flutter Functions and UKI.
Responsibilities- Assist with the production of month end numbers for Flutter Functions & UKI within Group Reporting deadlines.
- Operate a robust cost accruals process to ensure accurate accruals in a fast close environment.
- Review significant variances, flagging key variances before close.
- Standardise and automate month end tasks to improve timelines.
- Continuously review processes to find efficiencies and opportunities for AI initiatives.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations within set deadlines.
- Engage with budget owners to improve accrual processes.
- Document and maintain robust processes and procedures.
- Participate in cross training initiatives.
- Collaborate with related finance teams to achieve organisational goals.
- Identify opportunities to reduce the monthly close duration without impacting quality.
- Support Commercial Finance in budget and forecasting to meet Group timelines.
- Engage with internal and external audits when required.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial information to the Group reporting team.
- Qualification as an accountant with 2+ years in a similar environment, proven record in financial reporting and analysis.
- Keen attention to detail and drive for quality improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to challenge stakeholders and own personal development.
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non financial staff confidently and professionally.
- Comfort working with large volumes of data in highly automated environments.
- Team oriented mind set, able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with Oracle ERP or similar financial systems an advantage.
- Experience in a US GAAP or SOx environment is advantageous.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
