Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Worker plays a key role in supporting BCF's mission to help local older people. This role is central to ensuring the organisation's financial systems are kept up to date and accurate. The successful candidate will be responsible for all core finance functions of the charity, working closely with the CEO and Operations Manager. Key responsibilities include managing our QuickBooks account by keeping accurate records of all financial transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process monthly staff salaries, liaising with the external payroll partner as necessary to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Manage and maintain financial software (QuickBooks), including regular data entry, invoice management, and reconciliations.
- Respond to finance-related enquiries and prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Support the Operations Manager with day-to-day financial tasks such as banking, petty cash management, and payments.
- Lead the preparation, submission, and sign-off of annual accounts.
- Maintain access to and secure oversight of bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Attend meetings as required to provide financial updates/strategic input.
- Undertake other duties reasonably requested and work flexibly to support the wider needs of the charity.
