Your new role
As a Finance Officer, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This is an exciting, fast-paced role offering plenty of variety-perfect for someone who thrives in a busy and dynamic finance environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the purchase ledger process, including invoice processing, supplier payments, and account reconciliations
  • Handling payment runs, reviewing bank feeds, and posting transactions to the accounts system
  • Processing credit card expenses
  • Handling client invoicing and promptly addressing any related queries to ensure smooth and accurate billing processes.
  • Chasing outstanding payments and supporting credit control activities to maintain healthy cash flow
  • Producing financial reports for budget holders to support effective budget monitoring
  • Assisting with budgeting processes and working closely with the Finance Manager on month-end tasks
What you'll need to succeed
  • Approximately 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, with a solid understanding of day-to-day financial operations
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processes and general accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Confident using finance systems and Excel to manage data and support reporting
  • Experience working with or alongside local authorities is highly desirable.
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine eagerness to learn and grow within a supportive team
