Finance Manager

Location: Armagh (with the opportunity to work from Belfast following successful completion of probation)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours as business needs require

The Opportunity

This is more than a traditional Finance Manager role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build, develop and improve systems, processes and reporting structures that support a growing organisation.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will act as a trusted commercial adviser, providing valuable financial insight while ensuring the finance function is scalable, efficient and future-focused.

The organisation is particularly interested in candidates who embrace technology, automation and AI-driven solutions to improve reporting, visibility and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance function, providing financial and commercial support to senior leadership.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial models to support business planning and growth.
  • Deliver accurate monthly management accounts, KPI reporting and performance analysis.
  • Monitor profitability, cash flow, costs and key business metrics, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, policies and reporting processes across the organisation.
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including payroll, VAT, invoicing, payments and supplier management.
  • Support the financial management and performance of multiple operational locations and business projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and implement technology, AI and process improvements.
  • Act as a trusted business partner, providing insight and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

About You
You will be an ambitious, commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Ideally, you will have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous Finance Manager experience, or be an experienced Financial Controller ready to step into a Finance Manager position.
  • Experience within an SME, growing business, entrepreneurial environment or multi-site operation.
  • Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
  • Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience managing multi-site operations would be advantageous.
