Job Description
Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Finance Control Lead on a 3 months contract initially with a possibility of further extension.
About the role:You will be responsible for maintaining and developing our client's main finance systems, and will be the main contact for our client's Banking Contracts. You will be working in a team of 10 with 2 direct reportees.
Main accountabilities:- Deliver service activities and manage caseloads to ensure intended outcomes for customers and the Council are delivered within agreed service standards.
- Identify and implement improvements in own work area in order to deliver continuous service improvement and improved outcomes to customers.
- Deputise for the Finance Systems and Control Manager, in area of responsibility, in their absence and to provide cover as necessary for the Systems and Development Leads and Taxation and Payroll Lead posts.
- Manage the submission of BACS and Lloyds link payments.
- Undertake, record and report breaches checks, including money laundering according to statutory and Council requirements.
- Update and deliver documented reconciliation processes and controls.
- Manage relations with third party system suppliers and partners including the Council's bankers.
- Manage the Council's Banking Services contract and issue of bank accounts and authorised signatories.
- Reconcile the Council's Cash Book and interface to the Bank, Giro and Merchant Services Accounts and relevant financial information systems.
- Experience of managing staff.
- Experience of planning and delivering training sessions.
- Experience of managing change and developing and delivering proposals for the continuous cost-effective improvements to service delivery.
- Experience of working in a customer-focused environment and achieving successful outcomes in the delivery of services that meet customer needs.
- Knowledge of Banking Industry standards and processes.
- Qualified AAT or demonstrable equivalent knowledge.
