Finance Business Partner

Southampton (hybrid)A leading international consultancy is seeking a skilled FinanceBusiness Partner to strengthen its UK finance function. This newly created opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys shaping financial insight, partnering with senior leaders, and driving value across a diverse project-based business.

The role

You'll join a collaborative finance team spanning the UK and Northern Europe, supporting a large Buildings division with responsibility for financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business partnering. The position offers significant exposure to senior management and the chance to influence performance across a high-profile portfolio.

Key focus areas include:

• Business controlling & advisory - presenting results, highlighting risks/opportunities, supporting decision-making, and driving value creation.
• Working capital management - WIP analysis, contingency management, and proactive follow-up.
• Reporting & analysis - income statement ownership, root-cause analysis, project profitability, and ad-hoc reporting including audit support.
• Planning & forecasting - leading budgeting cycles and ensuring accuracy and alignment with business leaders.
• Continuous improvement - identifying and implementing process enhancements.

About you

• Strong academic background; ideally ACA/CIMA qualified or Qualified by Experience.
• Proven business partnering experience with a solid understanding of project accounting or experience working in a projects based business
• Advanced analytical and Excel modelling skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Collaborative, commercially aware, and able to build strong working relationships.
