Finance Business Partner - Sheffield - ASAP start - Public Sector - Temporary to Permanent

Hays are proud to be working exclusively with a public sector organisation in Sheffield, who are looking to recruit a finance business partner.
This role will be on a temporary to permanent basis, with a start date ASAP.
Hybrid & Flexible working
Full time - Monday to Friday

Your new role
Duties will include but not limited to:

• Oversee financial planning and budgeting across multiple service areas
  
• Maintain robust financial controls and support accurate reporting
  
• Promote financial collaboration and accountability amongst department leaders, providing financial insights and support where required
  
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards
  
• Lead forecasting and budget development, offering strategic guidance
  
• Manage financial processes for grants, sponsorships, and external funding
  
• Authorise payments and expenses when required
  
• Maintain financial systems and ensure coding structures are up to date
  
• Support audit processes and year-end financial activities
  
• Deliver cost analysis and financial projections as needed
  
• Monitor and manage financial risks within the department
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience within a finance business partner role
  
• Public sector accounting experience
  
• Strong professional communication skills
  
• Experience with system implementation and improvement
  
• Confident with financial accounting systems and excel
  
• Ideally qualified or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
