Finance Business Partner - North London/Hybrid - £43,983 to £55,692 per annum


A dynamic and forward-thinking London local authority is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their Finance Business Partnering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a progressive council committed to transforming the borough, addressing inequality, and creating opportunities for all who live, work and learn in the borough.

The Role:
The successful candidate will lead the financial support provided to the Council and senior management team, specifically covering the Resources and Chief Executive Service.
Reporting to the Head of Finance and Finance Manager, you will deliver high-quality, professional finance support to service departments. You will play a key role in supporting budget holders with budget setting, monitoring revenue and capital budgets, and contributing to medium-term financial planning and year-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on budget setting and financial monitoring for designated services
  • Provide expert technical financial advice and challenge to service managers
  • Ensure financial reporting is compliant with IFRS and CIPFA Code of Practice
  • Analyse complex financial data to inform and influence decision-making
  • Support continuous improvement of finance services
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure best practice
  • Drive financial efficiency and value for money across the service
About You:
  • CCAB/CIMA qualified accountant or part-qualified and actively studying
  • Strong experience in local government finance or a similar complex organisation
  • Excellent analytical, IT and accounting skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
  • Proactive and solution-focused with a commitment to service improvement
What We Offer:
  • Salary: £43,983 - £55,692 per annum
  • Hybrid working: Minimum of 2 days in the office per week
