Job Description
Finance Associate - Corgi Insurance (London) About Corgi
- AI powered insurance company focused on tech startups
- £108M raised in funding
- Licensed carrier with regulatory approval
- Expanding into the UK and EU; scaling up the London office
- Entry level finance position with significant responsibility and growth potential
- Not a routine or passive finance seat; requires proactive engagement and initiative
- Expense processing, vendor scrutiny, and bookkeeping are the starting point, not the full scope
- Process expense reimbursements efficiently and accurately
- Scrutinise vendors, expenses, and internal processes to prevent wasteful spending
- Bookkeeping is the baseline; expected to flag patterns and anomalies, not just record transactions
- Conduct ad hoc finance research and work closely with the team
- Make direct vendor calls and push back when necessary to protect company interests
- Low ego; willing to take on any finance related task as needed
- Highly trustworthy and reliable
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Genuinely hungry and driven to excel (beyond just resume statements)
- Comfortable with transparent, public communication (no siloed or private channels)
- Fast paced decision making; action is valued over perfection
- High intensity during busy periods, with sustained effort even during quieter times
- Expectation to bring solutions alongside problems
- Internal competition is encouraged; strong performers raise the standard for everyone
- This is a role for builders, not coasters
- Engaging in office politics, dodging responsibility, or gossiping
- Taking direct feedback personally instead of constructively
- Creating unnecessary overhead instead of streamlining processes
- Failing to follow through promptly after committing to deadlines
- London based position; on site or hybrid work arrangements available
- Compensation: £40,000 to £60,000 base salary, plus equity (wide band reflects focus on capability, not just experience or titles)
