St John the Baptist C of E Primary is a small village school set in the beautiful Sussex countryside. We are seeking a dynamic, organised, and motivated individual to join our team as the Finance and Administration Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive professional to drive effective and efficient financial management across our small and nurturing school. As a key member of our staffing team, you will support our school's Christian ethos and values, working collaboratively to help us achieve the highest standards in all areas.

Job Details

Salary: Grade 8 SCP 20 - 24, £32,597 - £35,412 FTE per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, permanent - term time, plus 5 INSET days

Location: Findon Village

About the Role

The Finance and Administration Officer will lead on all aspects of finance, compliance, school business operations, and manage aspects of health & safety and premises. You will support the Headteacher and Governing Body in financial planning and ensure efficient use of resources to support school improvement and pupil outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial and resource management
  • Budget planning, monitoring and financial reporting
  • Oversight of HR, recruitment, payroll and staff compliance
  • Supporting the Headteacher and Premises Officer with management of premises, health & safety, contracts, and site development
  • Compliance with statutory regulations and reporting requirements
  • Oversight of catering and lettings functions
