MS453 - Field Service Forklift EngineerLocation: BelfastSalary: £32,448 per annum basic Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Forklift Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.The role would be suitable for mechanically and electrical biased engineers from any type of maintenance/service background specifically general automotive technicians, HGV, mobile plant or forklift. The working hours for this role is Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 16:30 & Friday 8:00 - 16:00. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The main purpose of the role will be to offer an excellent standard of service to customers and assist colleagues as required. This is an important and rewarding role within a highly technical environment.
  • Service and maintenance of electric, diesel and LPG material handling equipment.
  • Fault finding, planned preventive maintenance and pre-delivery inspection of fork trucks.
  • Maintain and seek new opportunities to extend level of service provided to customers.
  • Ensure electronic paperwork is completed and submitted accurately and parts required to complete job are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Tools and equipment are kept in good working order and repairs carried out when required.
  • Ensure company vehicle is maintained to a high standard and van stock levels are replenished as required.
  • Personal presentation and communication standards are excellent at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Mechanical / electrical / hydraulics engineering experience from an automotive background (plant/agricultural/commercial).
  • Hands on electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Clean current driving licence.
  • Good health and safety working practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently.
  • Excellent oral and written abilities.
  • I.T. Literate.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of computer diagnostics.
  • Experience in the repair of forklift trucks (Diesel/gas/Electric).
  • Experience in fabrication and welding.
  • NVQ Level 3 (Electrical or vehicle maintenance).
