This position reports to

Service Execution Manager

Your role and responsibilities

This role involves visiting customer sites to perform breakdown repairs, servicing, planned preventative maintenance, calibration contracts, and installation/commissioning on a wide range of ABB (Measurement & Analytics) products. You may need to provide 24x7 service on a rota basis and conduct factory-based workshop repairs. The successful candidate will travel throughout the UK and occasionally overseas, with overnight stays required. We are looking for someone based in the East of England. The work model is onsite at various locations. This role contributes to the Measurement and Analytics Division, primarily serving Measurement Care Agreement holders and a large customer base.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Working with customers onsite to identify opportunities for operational improvements and pain point elimination.
  2. Performing field service tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and conducting analysis remotely or onsite.
  3. Preparing material lists and ensuring availability and quality of all materials, parts, and equipment needed.
  4. Troubleshooting equipment and process failures, requesting corrective actions, and recommending future preventive measures.
  5. Developing and maintaining customer relationships and satisfaction through field service solutions.
  6. Supporting the development and delivery of ABB Ability Digital Service Solutions.
  7. Collaborating with the aftersales team to develop service solutions and training materials for partners and customers.
  8. Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and exceeding customer safety expectations.
Qualifications for the role
  • Preferably qualified to ONC/HNC level in instrumentation, measurement control, or equivalent, or have completed a recognized apprenticeship.
  • Proficient in PC skills and familiar with MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible with a problem-solving approach.
  • Experience in industries such as Water/Power Utilities, Food & Beverage, Chemical & Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas is preferred.
  • Experience with Water Analysers is advantageous but not essential.
  • Valid UK driving license and passport are required.
