Field Engineer Team Leader

Salary: £36,600 per annum

Location: Remote, must be based in the UK - particularly interested in candidates based in the North of the UK or Southwest

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week

A bit about the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivating Team Leader to oversee our skilled IT Field Engineers. In this crucial position, you will promote outstanding onsite technical support throughout the organisation and serve as a key representative of the Technology department across different business areas. If you have strong leadership experience and a solid IT technical background, this role could be an excellent fit for you.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
  • Line managing the IT Field Engineers team.
  • Producing monthly reporting of performance and applying a rolling programme of improvements.
  • Managing the through flow of work and effectively deploying staff to meet day to day operational demands and maintenance of services.
  • Taking a lead role managing the operational relationship between Action for Children and third party suppliers.
  • Attending service sites to commission and de-commission centrally controlled IT equipment.
  • Developing and applying technical knowledge of Microsoft-based infrastructure to Action for Children's technical infrastructure and desktop environment.
  • Developing relationships with remote service users and internal IT teams.
  • Undertaking continued professional development and staying abreast of latest developments to support continuous service improvement programmes for the department.
Let's talk about you
  • Foundation Qualification in ITIL (or equivalent experience).
  • Qualifications and/or experience of other Standards associated with IT best practice, such as ISO27001, Business Analysis and the Data Protection Act 1998.
  • Customer service skills, knowledge and understanding of Service Level Agreements.
  • Demonstrable experience of troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving complex computer-related problems.
  • Familiar with the use of Help desk systems and working in a service support environment.
  • Experience of supporting a Microsoft Environment.
  • Established working knowledge of computer hardware and network operating systems.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of MS-Windows operating system, MS Office suite, Office 365, Azure and Active Directory. Knowledge of PC / laptop hardware, WiFi and basic networking.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of internal and external security requirements.
  • Full UK Drivers License.
