Field Application Specialist - Fluid Management Technologies

Do you have experience in process development, bioprocessing or MSAT? Are you looking to leave the lab and use your scientific knowledge and strong communication skills in a commercial role? We are looking for a Field Application Specialist to join the Application Services Team to be responsible for offering product expertise, application knowledge and technical support along each step of the customer's process and for bringing the products' technical expertise and market knowledge to the sales team.
The main missions are to ensure successful design, validation and implementation of products by supporting sales for product design, product positioning and demonstration and by supporting customers for application development work, initial startups and training.
You will be ideally familiar with fluid management technologies - Single Use products such as aseptic connection - disconnections, bioprocessing bags (Flexboy, Flexsafe, Flexel), transfer sets, mixing systems, storage solutions, freeze and thaw solutions, fill and finish solutions, sampling systems. Your territory will predominantly cover Ireland with occasional travel across the UK, Nordics and Benelux. You will be based in Ireland from home with up to 50% travel required and ideally living close to an international airport.
Responsibilities- Support the sales organisation on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations and application studies, and on new products in close collaboration with product management through beta sites testing and demonstrations.
- Be responsible for the assigned product line (Single Use FMT products) to support sales target achievement in defined territory.
- Support sales in the customer process and URS analysis, and generate application trials to help design optimised products in line with application requirements.
- Provide technical support proactively, answer enquiries and resolve implementation problems in the field for customers.
- Support quality department in the quality complaint process by troubleshooting and analysing customer processes for better investigation and resolution.
- Collect, compile and verify and analyse data on the assigned product line performance and customer feedback to identify product features that need to be changed to meet customer needs.
- Report on competitors' products and feedback information to the application specialist management and product management.
- Provide basic product training to internal sales and dealers, and run external customer workshops and seminars.
- Conduct trials and demos to achieve intended results and create trial reports to product management and sales teams.
- Collaborate with interfaces to define the scope and acceptance criteria of trials and build professional trial reports.
- Minimum Bachelors' degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related discipline; Masters' or PhD are advantageous.
- Previous experience in process development, MSAT, bioprocessing in biotechnology, biopharmaceutical industry or CDMO environment, or field experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of biopharmaceutical processes, troubleshooting, optimisation.
- Strong customer focus with great communication skills.
- Highly organised and capable of planning own schedule.
- Team player, able to interact with people across different functions internationally, while being comfortable working independently.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem solve technical issues.
- Demonstrate the ability to present data, findings and recommendations to customers.
- Must have the right to work in Ireland.
