Function
The Project Manager City manages a team for the construction of a fiber network in the various fiberhoods of the relevant cities/areas. You have the end-to-end responsibility for the team, the budget (P&L), the planning and the expected result.
A selection of your tasks and responsibilities:
- You put together a construction team and lead this team. Together with the team, you are responsible for the construction of a fiber ('Fiber to the home') network. You take care of the day-to-day management of the team in terms of staffing, planning and follow-up. You are responsible for the P&L of the cluster. You manage the budget and ensure that the financial returns are in line with expectations. You report on progress and issues to the operations manager. You provide insight into the general status and take the necessary actions to achieve the objectives.
- You play an important role in stakeholder management. You interact in an open and constructive way with the various stakeholders, both within the organization, the customer and the cities.
- You are the general point of contact for the city and for the various parties internally and externally. You maintain a helicopter overview in terms of forecasting materials, targets, permits, etc.
- You and your team will provide the necessary permits through the city/police for the execution of the works. You do this in a proactive and transparent way so that the city considers you a reliable partner.
- You measure and report the KPIs that apply to the cluster. You also bear final responsibility for the quality of the work delivered and the documentation of test reports and as-builts. You always take into account the predetermined frameworks, KPIs, guidelines and processes.
The ideal candidate
You are a mature project manager which is based on a sterke dosis people management can motivate and manage a team. You have Persuasion and negotiation skills to work together with the various stakeholders. You are always cost-conscious and have an eye for efficiency and quality.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fiber network deployment, particularly FTTH civil works supervision.
- You have built up extensive experience in financial management and budget management. You have experience in defining and following up on a P&L and budgets. You are able to draw up action plans based on the input of the project controller.
- You can deal with a diverse group of stakeholders (city councils, police services, residents, the customer) in Dutch. You can adapt your message according to the target group.
- You have strong digital skills to follow up on the progress of the works/budgets and to report to the customer (by means of PowerBi, Excel, for example).
- Deep understanding of fiber architecture, including P2P, GPON, trenching methods, and customer drops.
- Proven experience with Belgium's infrastructure permitting systems: GIPOD, Geopunt, Eaglebe.
- Solid knowledge of SB250 (Standaardbestek 250)
- specifications and Belgian public infrastructure regulations.
- Proficient in ArcGIS or QGIS for map layer analysis, data management, and documentation.
- Fluent in Dutch and professional working proficiency in English.
- Ability to read and interpret telecom construction drawings and fiber schematics.
- You have a perfect command of Dutch supplemented by English.
