Job overview

The post holder will provide administrative support across GI services, including word-processing, drafting reports, meeting notes, and managing office duties like filing, photocopying, and mail handling.

Operate and maintain secure filing systems, manage spreadsheets and databases, and organize meetings and events.

Main duties

Provide secretarial and administrative support to clinical and non-clinical teams, communicate effectively, liaise with staff and stakeholders, handle telephone inquiries, and ensure accurate data collection for reports.

Recognize situations needing escalation to FDS nurse/matron, and support efficient service delivery.

Handle sensitive patient contact with confidentiality, including incidental face-to-face interactions.

Responsibilities and requirements

Provide efficient secretarial support, communicate effectively, manage data and meetings, and support patient contact with confidentiality and sensitivity.

Organize work priorities, support team activities, and participate in training and induction of new staff.

Person specification

Demonstrable ability to meet Trust values, good general education (e.g., GCSEs), relevant qualifications (QCF Level 2 Business Administration), excellent communication skills, IT proficiency, and experience in healthcare settings, especially cancer services, is preferred.
