Job Description

We are working on behalf of a respected and growing multi-office law firm to recruit an experienced Family Solicitor to join their Birmingham office as Head of Team / Family Supervising Solicitor. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and capable Family Supervising Solicitor with leadership skills to join a dynamic family law department, with scope to grow and shape the team further. As their leading Family Supervising Solicitor, you will handling a varied caseload of family matters whilst supporting junior colleagues.

The Role

  • Lead and supervise a developing team of family law professionals.
  • Handle a varied caseload of care proceedings, PLO matters, private children law, divorce and finances, and domestic abuse injunctions (Non-Molestation / Occupation Orders).
  • Undertake your own advocacy where appropriate.
  • Support junior colleagues through supervision and mentoring.
  • Contribute to business development, networking, and potential panel accreditation.
  • Engage with both legal aid and private family work.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Must be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3+ years' PQE in family law.
  • Have solid experience in care, children, and general family law matters.
  • Possesses leadership ability and experience supervising or mentoring others.
  • Confident in advocacy and case strategy.
  • Has a following or is actively developing one (preferred).
  • Understands legal aid processes and is keen to also grow private work.
  • Motivated, commercially aware, and ready to hit the ground running.
