Family Help Practitioner 10121 Permanent Contract 37 hours per week £34,434 to £36,363 per annum Grade H Kings Lynn
Children's Services are seeking to recruit one Family Help Practitioner for our team based at Priory House in Kings Lynn. We are looking to fill one full-time position working 37 hours per week. Please state in your application whether you are interested in full or part time work or both.
If you have experience of working with children and families and have a passion for supporting them in effecting sustained change, then we would like to hear from you.
Family Help encompasses the work of a broad range of partners supporting families and individuals during often challenging and difficult times. Much of this work, although not exclusively, is undertaken in partnership with others.
The development of universal Early Help Hubs across Norfolk has helped partners to gain a greater understanding of each other's work and to develop networks and collaboration for the benefit of the residents of Norfolk.
Family Support is the targeted end of Early Help for services operating at the edge of more intensive and or statutory services. Our practitioners provide support to families that have the most complex needs, whose situations without targeted intervention will escalated to become acute, chronic and result in the child/young person and their family requiring social care or other statutory intervention.
There is a strong emphasis on partnership working across all agencies, and Family Help Practitioners undertake direct work with families in the community to bring about long lasting social change.
As a Family Help Practitioner you will use your knowledge and skills to complete direct work and interventions using a range of resources with the children and families on your caseload to ensure you are capturing what life is like for the children and to improve outcomes.
The role of a Family Help Practitioner is varied and at times can be challenging so a high level of resilience is needed. It is fast paced so you will need to be flexible, use your initiative and skill set to manage your workload. A family's needs and situation can change so you will need to be able to prioritise, adapt your practice and remain calm in what could be difficult situations.
You will need to be able to travel to destinations not accessible by public transport.
You will need good IT skills, proficiency in Word, Excel and databases and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.
