Role Overview

Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking an exceptional academic leader to become its next Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor for Arts and Humanities. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the UK's largest and most distinctive arts and humanities faculties and to build something visible, lasting, and impactful at scale, as a key part of the University's Executive Team.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a bold and diverse intellectual community spanning art and design, digital arts, architecture, fashion, English, history, politics, philosophy, sociology and criminology. With over 700 academic colleagues and around 11,500 students, it combines scale with quality. Multiple disciplines deliver consistently strong National Student Survey outcomes and the faculty is known for its research strengths and culture of collaboration.

Responsibilities

As Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor, you will shape a long term vision, identify opportunities for growth, investment and innovation, bring pace and clarity to a complex and diverse portfolio, align schools around a unifying strategy, maximise the faculty's role within Greater Manchester and the wider North West, and extend its influence nationally and internationally.

Qualifications and Experience

You will bring superb communication skills, a research profile of international renown, a deep understanding of contemporary higher education, and a demonstrable track record of leading complex academic communities in the Arts and Humanities domains.
