Job Summary

We are seeking to hire a Facilities Team Lead. The Facilities Team Lead is responsible for managing Facilities and Environmental, Health and Safety. The Facilities team lead role will also oversee industrial production, and support R&D projects and CTL to help keep the productivity at optimal levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing facilities on site day to day and planning contractors, where required.
• Planning routine inspections and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure smooth operation and avoid unplanned breakdowns.
• Monitoring and optimizing energy consumption through energy-efficient technologies and practices to reduce operational costs.
• Ensuring that facilities meet regulatory standards, codes, and certifications (e.g., fire safety, accessibility, gas systems, warehouse racking, etc).
• Emergency preparedness and response planning, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Managing construction, renovation, or retrofit projects to ensure that they meet business needs, deadlines, and budgets.
• Offering consulting services for facilities design, infrastructure planning, and system upgrades.
• Ensuring the availability of the necessary equipment, material, and labour resources for day to day running of the facility.
• Managing planned and unplanned costs and expenditures to budget including cost estimates and budgets for new equipment.
• Working with engineering and CNC to ensure optimal use of resources to include capacity planning, equipment and strategic capital investments.
• Ensuring the production process is in line with the quality control standards and Quality management system processes, procedures and records.
• Liaising and managing relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensuring that staff within the industrial production team follow the environmental, health and safety policies and procedures of the company.
• Designing and installing security systems, including access control, CCTV cameras and alarm systems.
• Identifying and executing continuous improvement and cost savings projects on time and within budget to achieve targeted savings.
• Managing EHS officer and the Environmental, Health and Safety team and consulting on system requirements.
• Liaising with EHS officer for Health and Safety legislation requirements.
• Planning lean activities to maintain good housekeeping standards within the facility.
• Hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, completing performance reviews and cultivating positive employee relations.
• Monitoring and supervising the activities of staff
• Managing team relations, support and provide mentoring and coaching.
• Monitoring team performance, setting clear objectives and conducting performance reviews.
• Providing guidance and support for professional development and skill enhancement.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across all teams.
• Implementing lean practices to optimise workflows and reduce waste.
• Performing all duties as assigned by your manager.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A technical degree from a leading university, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, facilities, construction management, or a similar related field.
  
• Experience:
  • 20 years' experience in facilities management
• Skills:
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Experience with coordinating building projects, renovations, and expansions.
  • Developing and managing budgets for facility operations, maintenance, and capital improvements.
  • Negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and overseeing the performance of external service providers.
  • Strong fault-finding ability to quickly identify and resolve issues related to building systems, security, and safety.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and make informed decisions about repairs, maintenance, and upgrades. Comfortable in managing competing priorities.
  • Formal lean / Six-Sigma training is desirable

  • Fluency in Irish is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Open to ongoing learning, development, and cross training
