Main Purpose
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and operations of our office facilities. This is a fixed term contract, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our office environment is safe, functional, and conducive to productivity. This role involves managing various aspects of the facility, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as coordinating with service providers.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repairs: Inspect, maintain, and arrange repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results.
- Contract Management: Oversee and negotiate contracts with service providers for security, cleaning, catering, and other services.
- Oversee the standards and correct resources for cleaning, maintenance, grounds, and security personnel.
- Health and Safety: Ensure the building meets health and safety requirements and complies with relevant legislation.
- Budget Management: Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in all facility-related expenditures.
- Space Utilization: Plan and optimize the allocation and utilization of space and resources within the office.
- Emergency Response: Respond appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and manage the consequences.
- Performance Monitoring: Use performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and lead on improvement initiatives.
- Future Planning: Plan for future development in line with strategic business objectives, including renovations and upgrades.
Management Responsibilities
- Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires inspection of facility infrastructure and equipment.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field would be desirable.
- Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH is desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
