Job Description
Facilities Manager (On-site) - HMP Featherstone

The role involves maintaining statutory compliance, ensuring health and safety standards, and overseeing the day to day operations of the prison estate. You will manage staff, drive KPI achievement, and support environmental and carbon reduction initiatives.

What you will do:
  • Achieve and maintain statutory and mandatory compliance
  • Ensure hazards are identified and risk assessments reduce or eliminate risk
  • Ensure all staff are aware of and comply with the Health and Safety Policy
  • Ensure H&S standards are achieved across the contract
  • Implement and enforce corporate policies and procedures
  • Oversee day to day operations and strategic management of the estate/building on behalf of the client
  • Carry out audits and spot checks to confirm service delivery by direct staff and subcontractors meets required quality
  • Ensure KPIs are achieved and staff understand their role in service delivery
  • Perform first line management duties, including disciplinary and employment processes
  • Maintain the Environmental Management System and enforce measures to reduce environmental risk
  • Support zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon strategically and efficiently where appropriate
  • Generate revenue through additional works and monitor the P&L for the site
What you will bring:
  • Recognised and relevant technical or FM qualification
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and policy implementation
  • Sound knowledge of statutory and mandatory compliance with experience preparing for external audits
  • Knowledge of service delivery and KPIs
  • Demonstrable experience of budgeting and managing costs
  • Experience in first line management
  • Customer relationship management
  • Clear and sensitive communication style, typically technical

Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
